Louise Lloyd lives in a 3-bedroom, 1860's semi-detached property constructed with 18 inch thick stone walls in rural Mid-Wales. Like many other properties in the area, Louise's home contained an oil boiler system but having moved in, things started to go awry.

The ideal solution for environmentally friendly heating and cooling when garden space is limited

What are the solutions if you are keen to have environmentally friendly heating but the options of ground loop or bore hole are not viable for you?
The Nordic Inverter is an air to air source heat pump that is configured mainly for heating but also offers air conditioning in summer.

It works by taking heat from the air outside and concentrating it to much higher temperatures. It then transfers the heat inside the building where it is distributed by moving air almost imperceptibly through the "heater" or "chiller" when in air conditioning mode.
Both the outside and internal units are extremely quiet. It is easily installed usually taking about a half day.

The unit operating temperatures are controlled by a remote controller.

The efficiency of the Nordic Inverter is not as good as a heat pump, however it still works at a co-efficient of performance (COP) of 3.5:1, giving out three and a half times more heat than electricity it consumes.

It will also operate down to outside temperature of -20°C, ensuring your home is warm even on the coldest days.
