Grant Schemes

Ice Energy has a number of grant partners who supply CERT funding for ground source heat pumps and this means that BOTH CERT & RHI grants are presently available for new installations of Ground Source Heat Pumps. These are:

  1. £1500 grant after commissioning a ground source heat pump where the competing fuel is Oil, solid fuel, LPG;
  2. A grant of up to £1200 for air source heat pumps installed into domestic dwellings;
  3. A proposed annual grant of 7.5p/kWhr* of "deemed heat requirement" of the property for 18 years where an air source heat pump is installed in a domestic property;
  4. A proposed annual grant of 7p/kWhr* of "deemed heat requirement" of the property for 23 years where a ground source heat pump is installed into a domestic property.
These grants ARE NOT assessed on financial status and are open to everyone.

This may all sound a little confusing but it's actually quite simple, for full details for which grants you will be eligible please call us to discuss your particular requirements on 0808 145 2345.

Grants 1&2 are only available through Ice Energy's grant partnership with the energy generators under CERT funding.

Grants 3 and 4 are proposed to come into effect on 1st April 2011 and is presently under consultation and so the finer details of these schemes may change slightly.

To give you an idea of how much grants 3 & 4 may be worth, here are some very rough guidelines:

  • 3 bed terraced property £700 per year for 18-23 years
  • 3 bed semi £1000 per year for 18-23 years
  • 5 bed detached £1500-2500 per year for 18-23 years
Grants in Scotland differ considerably, some have recently been withdrawn (e.g. grants for new build dwellings), So for up to the minute details of what is available please do give us a call. Please note Scottish new build properties can still access the Ice Energy £1500 grant.
