Government announces huge subsidies for heat pumps

Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for Climate Change has announced the Renewable Heat Incentive which will pay homeowners who install renewable technologies a yearly income for generating their own heat.

The announcement is still in consultation but the current figures provide a 3 bed semi-detached around £1000 per year and a 5 bed detached house around £2000 per year.

Ice Energy Visits Hellifield Peel, Winner of the C4 Grand Designs Award

Hellifield Peel was an ancient scheduled monument in ruins when Francis & Karen Shaw decided to rebuild it. The renovation was covered by Grand Designs and was the only project to given an hour and half long program.

It was one of the most popular too, with the biggest ever audience at that time.
